Ruth Witebsky Rosen, A vibrant and loving woman, “Ruthie” Rosen was born in a leap year on February 29, 1916. She died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on August 2, 2012, in Dallas. She is survived by her children Philip E. Rosen, Nancy R. Huckle, Michael S. Rosen and Susan D. Rosen; her grandchildren Lauren Johnson, Brian Rosen and Shayna Taibel; and great grand children Nicole Johnson, Natalie Taibel, and Erin Johnson. The love of her life and Ruthie’s true partner for 49 years, husband Nathan Rosen, preceded her in death in 1988. She was also predeceased by a young daughter, Linda J. Rosen. Ruthie never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a warm smile and a welcoming hug. She passionately served Shearith Israel Synagogue and the Jewish Community for over 50 years in various ways. She was most proud of her roles as President of the Shearith Israel Sisterhood and Secretary to the Rabbi. She also volunteered at the Gift Shop, and regularly attended Mamaloschen and Lunch and Learn. She thoroughly enjoyed serving her community, and especially cherished giving her time and energy to the next generation. Her legacy, spirit and genuine love of life, live on through each and every person whose lives she touched. The family invites all loved ones to a Funeral Service in the main sanctuary of Shearith Israel, 9401 Douglas Avenue on Monday August 6, 2012, at 11:00am, to be immediately followed by a graveside ceremony at the Shearith Israel Cemetery, 4634 Dolphin Road.
