Ruth Ann was born to Hattie and Roy Westman in Sioux City, Iowa on November 29, 1936. She passed away on January 2, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents Hattie and Roy Westman, her husband Pat Wayne Richey, sisters, Marge LaRocca, Alice Hedberg, Maxine Fachman and brother Robert Westman. She is survived by her children, Michael Wayne Richey, Christopher Scott Richey, and Sandra Richey Mitschke and her sister Jan Rose. She was blessed with 3 grandchildren, Haley Richey, Kara Richey, and Shelby Mitschke, as well as 1 great-grandchild, Finn Nelson, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth Ann and Wayne married in Las Vegas on April 4, 1963. They lived in; Anaheim, CA, Scottsdale, AZ and Dallas, TX. She lived in her home with her children in Dallas, TX for 55 years before moving to The Wellington at Arapaho Independent Living in Richardson, TX. Though she only lived there for 8 months, she made many friends and enjoyed the time she was there.
Some of Ruth Ann's favorite things were feeding the birds in her backyard, collecting Angels and butterflies, playing cards with family and friends as well as crossword puzzles, word games and solitaire. She loved walking on the beach searching for seashells and especially sand dollars. Her favorite time of year is fall with all the leaves changing color. Her favorite holiday was Halloween and purple was her color. Ruth Ann had many talents like sewing, playing the organ by ear and making fudge! She touched so many lives of her family, friends and community and will be dearly missed.
