Ruth Goldberg, 92, of San Antonio, Austin and Dallas passed away on October 3, 2017 in Dallas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, a friend to all who knew her, a classy lady who never said a harsh word about anyone and whose sparkle, gentleness, and love for life radiated throughout any room she entered.
Ruth was born in Hamburg, Germany on November 29, 1924 to Cilli and Grigori Liwschitz of Poland. She escaped Germany during the Holocaust at the age of 16 and never saw her parents again. She devoted her whole life to her husband, her family, and caring for others.
Survivors include her sister Sonja Goldberg, son Stuart Goldberg (Terry), daughter Charlotte Goldberg, three grandchildren: Jason Goldberg (Kristie), Rachel Goldberg, and Ilana Goldberg Hurst (Eric), and 5 great grandchildren: Adreanna, Analysia and Anaraya Hurst, Nathan Goldberg and Emma Hughes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Israel Goldberg.
A graveside Service will be held on Sunday, October 8, at 1:30pm at Agudas Achim Memorial Gardens, 1727 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218.
