Royce Elmer Henley, Railroad Man, Texas Baptist Men Church Builder, loving husband and father left this earthly home to meet his Savior Jesus Christ, and be reunited with his bride of 62 years, Katherine (McCracken) Henley. Royce was 85, born September 6, 1928 to Ona Eland Henley and Linda Henley at Fort Sam Houston, TX and passed away October 25, 2013. Royce served his country in the National Guard. He retired after many years as a switchman/conductor with the Union Pacific Railroad (MOPAC). He also built houses and said he couldn’t wait to retire so he could build churches with the Texas Baptist Men Church Builders. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Cope and husband BJ Cope of Garland TX; grandchildren William Austin and wife Kathryn Cope, andMatthew Elliott Cope; twin brother Norris Henley and Mary of San Antonio and younger brother Archie Henley and Sylvia of Somerset, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and younger brother Lee Henley of California precedes him in death. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Northlake Baptist Church, 1501 N Country Club Rd, Garland, TX. The family will receive family and friends during visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday evening at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home.
