Rose was born and raised in Elkhart, Indiana where she attended school, graduating from Elkhart High School in 1946. Rose married her high school sweetheart, Don Fuller, on September 1st, 1951 in San Diego California, where Don was stationed in the U.S. Marine Corps after completing his tour of duty in Korea. Upon Don’s discharge from the Marine Corps in 1952, Don and Rose returned to Elkhart where they would live for the next 61 years. In 2013, Don and Rose moved to Dallas, Texas.
Rose accompanied Don on many business trips associated with the broadcast television industry. She particularly enjoyed meeting many movie and television celebrities. Rose took pleasure and pride in organizing corporate events for Don’s business associates and clients.
Florida and California were Rose’s favorite destinations to vacation and relax with her family. After her daughter Catherine moved to Dallas, Rose and Don would spend much of their time with Catherine’s family, which included their grandchildren Courtney and Wyatt.
Rose had a passion for interior design, music and flowers. All who knew her will miss her kindness, grace, wit and insightfulness. She was a member of Elcona Country Club, Four Arts Club, Bridge Club and St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Don Fuller; daughter Catherine Awtrey; sisters Mary Bibbo and Sanita O’Dell; granddaughter Courtney Harris; grandson Wyatt Awtrey, great granddaughter Charlotte Harris and numerous nieces and nephews. Rose was particularly close to her niece Christie Marshall and nephew Craig Gildner.
She was preceded in death by her parents Michael and Ophelia Bibbo; brothers James, John, and Michael Bibbo; sister Betty Gildner; and son-in law Wayne Awtrey.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 27th at 2 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Chapel, 7405 West Northwest Highway.
