Rocky James Faulkner was born July 7th, 1954 to Dr. Merlin E. and Gwendolyn Faulkner. He is the oldest of three siblings, his brother John and sister Jocelyn. He grew up in Dallas, TX. Rocky was a faithful Christian and a member of the Church of Christ. He attended David W. Carter High School in Dallas. After graduating, he attended Abilene Christian University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Rocky later found his true calling and followed in his father’s foot steps when he enrolled in Baylor School of Dentistry, where he later graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Science. Rocky was a practicing general dentist for 27 years in the same office he shared with his father on West Jefferson in Oak Cliff, before retiring. Rocky had three children, Andrew, Alexandra, and Spencer.
Rocky was well known for his big, kind heart and unselfishness. Rocky was always willing to help someone in need. Rocky loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, traveling, civil war enthusiast and enjoyed being with friends and family. Rocky always had a cruise planned, Alaska being his favorite destination.
Rocky is preceded in death by his father Merlin Faulkner, his mother Gwendolyn (maiden name) Faulkner, and his sister Jocelyn (Faulkner) Hotema.
Rocky is survived by his brother John Faulkner, daughter Alexandra, and sons Spencer & Andrew. In addition to his brother and children, a granddaughter, Leighton Taveau, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive him.
