I worked for Bob in the Property Center st GEICO.  As it turned out he knew my Uncle Joe and my Dad, Tommie from the golf course you and he played golf at.
Bob and I would always mention this when we would find ourselves engrossed in underwriting.  I learned a great deal from him and will miss him tremendously.  
I’m truely sorrow for your loss, but I know Dad, uncle Joe  and Bob are playing  some mean 9 holes.

Bob and I met one summer evening in Olney Mill about 40 years ago.  The Millers lived up the street a few houses.  We decided to bike Saturday am at 7:30.  Bob was a bit sweaty when I showed up. He explained he had already washed both cars, cut the grass, and took a warm-up ride of 25 miles. Through the years, seems Bob was always about 25 miles ahead of me.  We (Bob, Carol, Margarete, Jim, Maureen, me) took several nice bike trips. Notable was on overnighter around St Michaels MD.  It was a great week-end, with Bob leading the way as usual, clearing the way for followers. 
Our Olney Mill neighborhood was very social; always friends celebrating births, birthdays, etc.  A vivid memory, the Millers took disco lessons and arranged a Saturday Night Fever party on their patio.  Sadly, the videos are missing.  
I biked on several taxing rides with Bob and Jim.  On one Seagull Century we shared a motel room, planning to start riding early in the am after breakfast.  When my eyes opened Bob was dressed, fed, pacing the room, ready to go.  All day he was ahead and ready to go, but offering encouraging words to us laggards.  
Maureen and I enjoyed many great times with Bob and Carol through the years, especially weddings, leaving us with wonderful memories.   Our condolences to his lovely family.


My family got to know Bob and Carol through our connection at Lakewood Country Club in Dallas. Bob was one of the first friendships  that we made there. Early on, our son Michael Colin and I would play golf with Bob and his great friend John Holmes or one one John’s sons - Josh or Jessie. Michael  Colin was very young at the time but Bob would treat him  just like one of his adult friends. Even when I wasn’t there Bob and Johnny would let Michael Colin join them on the golf course. Both these men were a great influence on him. Saturday afternoons, however, were reserved for golf with his grandchildren. You could tell the grand kids loved hanging out with Bob. Bob was a good man and we will miss his big smile, his deep laugh and his friendship. Hit’em long and straight up there good friend! The O’Rourkes

I first met Mr Bob Miller by the flagpole at Geico in Chevy Chase, Maryland. 
I was his taxi driver that day to the airport as he was catching his flight to Texas, exactly 12 years ago this year. 
I always called him Mr Miller or Bob Miller. 
For 12 years I was Mr Miller driver every time he flew in to Washington DC, and every time he flew back to Dallas or Massachusetts. This was on a weekly basis  every month, unless he was on vacation.  
For 12 years I have had a great pleasure to meet on the most beautiful, caring person. 
Mr Miller and I went from  his regular taxi driver and his customer to become great friend that I will dearly miss. 
He loved his family, specially his grand children. 
His favorite day to come in was on Tuesday at 9. :55am at National airport. 
He would always tell how fun his weekend was playing golf with grand children. 
His favorite day to go back was on fridays between 10am to 2 pm. 
Mr Miller use to tell me his passion about biking and golfing and  cars.  
I only have so many positive and beautiful memories about Mr Miller. 
He was a true friend and also a mentor. 
From the streets of  Washington to New Jersey, to JFK airport in  New York to Dallas, Texas. 
Mr Miller and I last had a 22 hours car ride to his house in Texas not knowing this would’ve been the last time 
I will dearly miss you my friend but never forgotten.

Bob was such a kind and approachable man!   After moving on from Woodbury, he'd come back from time to time.  He always remembered the last conversation that we'd had even though months had gone by.  My deepest condolences- Bob will be so missed by so many.

I have two very impacting memories of Bob. First, when I was a younger man starting my career at GEICO, Bob and I talked about exercise. He loved to exercise. One day, during the work day, Bob and I yakked about running and biking. He was healing, at the time, from a detached retina. What touched me the most was his willingness to care about me and give me his time. He invited me into his office, and an hour later, we concluded an insightful and informative conversation. Bob was encouraging and kind, patient and caring. After his push for me to "do more" at exercise, I achieved a 5 mile run. A second memory that was moving involved our Service Department at GEICO. I was a green service counselor and I had come into work that morning; walking down the aisles I hear a deep voice. I look over and Bob has a headset on and he is taking Service calls from our customers. He was RVP at the time. Who does that? Well, Bob does. His humility and dedication to GEICO and its customers, and his example of leadership is amazing. I was shaped by Bob and I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to know him. May God bless his family during their time of mourning. Bob truly was an amazing human being!

As a part-time evening associate in the Policy Service Department I was shocked when after ending a call a voice came through my headset, "Hello Teri, this is Bob Miller".  At that time management  would randomly listen to calls in progress for monitoring purposes.  Well that was that call for me.   He complimented me on the handling of he call and wished me success in my future endeavors. I was impressed by his dedication to excellent customer service that he was still working so late in the evening.  Rest in Peace.

My deepest and sincerest condolences. I will always remember Bob as a true gentleman and leader during our interactions at GEICO (Woodbury).  He will be missed, but always fondly remembered and regarded.  I will keep him, and all of you in my prayers and thoughts. 

Bob had such a profound impact on my career. He took me under his wing as his planning manager. His way of teaching me the first year was sort of tough love. He wanted me to think my way out of situations and made me work countlessly at figuring out how to do things with minimal direction. When I looked back on the three plus years I worked directly for him I understood why he was so tough on me during that first year. He wanted my decisions to stand on my own and was mentoring me to take the next step in my career.   I worked for Bob while opening the Buffalo office which became Region 8 and while he took the company to the next level by getting GEICO into New Jersey to write business.  He truly was a genius and someone I had the utmost respect for. GEICO lost an invaluable person in Bob Miller as did the world.  Rest in Peace and, “No Bowling is not a blue color sport Mr. Miller.”  May Heaven be your 18th Hole.  

January 28th 2002, my start at Geico. My first day I met Bob. Prior to that day GEICO was a building where I drove to, to  pay my  the families insurance and it was a  commercial on TV. That day I met someone who knew I was troubled and scared. I had been laid off after 25 years. I was able to place most of the people that worked for me. 911 had us not only terrorized but worried about finding employment.  My first day there was a ray of hope called Bob Miller. He spoke to us, told us about himself and asked, individually, about ourselves. Every day after that when I ran into him he would ask how it was going and was I still nervous. He made you feel welcomed and gave a friendly face to a big Corporation. I have met many more people like him since that day, but he will remain the caring face of GEICO to me. 
Soar with the Angels  Bob. You are gone too soon, but the Great Spirit has  other work for you.

I began working for GEICO, Woodbury in 2004 and Bob was also still working in Woodbury.  We would often ride the elevator together and he was so pleasant and cheerful. He made me feel so at home and welcome to my new position.  Always in the best shape and would joke with me about how he worked out on his lunch hour on the 5th floor in the Penthouse!(we only have 4 floors)
I found him to have such an positive infectious personality, so uplifting and was sad when he moved on to work in other regions.  He accomplished so much for GEICO and will surely be missed by all who knew him.  R.I.P. Bob ! I am sure you will be golfing, keeping in shape and running things smoothly in eternal life ! 

Bob truly was the best of the best !! When I worked in the command center he would visit us every day. I will never forget when he came  and asked us if he could golf with us for the Woodbury golf outing. We already had a team of 4.  So Bob made a phone call and sure enough all 5 of us became a team. None of us ever golfed before so he was giving us pointers and we would go the driving range once a week. On the day of the golf outing Bobs face was priceless when the 4 of us got out of the car and went to the trunk and took out 1 bag of (old) golf clubs to share.. he was in shock and said he has never seen anyone share golf clubs. We all started laughing and the day was so enjoyable. We did so well he was like a proud father. He even let us use his clubs for some of the holes. Bob you will be missed May you rest in peace !! Sending prayers to his family.

In my interactions with Bob he was always friendly, forward, and had a good sense of humor.

During my days working in HR Bob would visit our department so frequently that he and I would pretend to be annoyed that that we had to see each other again.  To me the best part of this was the shock of other associates as they watched us go back and forth only to realize it was all a joke.

I will never forget those moments. I will also never forget how Bob had my back on more than one occasion when I needed it more than he knew.  I have often told these stories and will continue to do so now in his memory.

I first met Mr. Miller in an elevator in the Woodbury office.  We met back in 2004 on my very first day of employment.  Nearly 15 years later, I ran into Mr. Miller in Woodbury after not seeing him for some time.  To my surprise, not only did he remember who I was, he remembered our conversation and that we met on my first day.

The care that he put into each associate was highly remarkable and respectful.  

As a senior underwriter I had the pleasure and honor to work with Bob several years ago. One of the many things I will always remember is how he always made sure his audience, whether in a meeting or formal presentation, understood the content.   He always took the time to share his knowledge with everyone.  I saw him not too long ago by chance and the casual conversation was so pleasant.  May he rest in peace.

The best boss I have ever had in my 42 years of working. (21 at GEICO). (Woodbury)

Taught me so much about the Insurance business and was the nicest guy who only wanted the best for you.
