Robert Charles McKinney was born on September 15, 1963 in Dallas, Texas to Arnold McKinney and Jeanne Morrell McKinney. Robert entered into rest on March 13, 2016 in the comfort of his home. He attended Christ the King Elementary School and Jesuit High. Robert graduated from Richardson High and attended Eastfield College.
Robert’s love for sports started at a young age when he joined a competitive hockey team. He also enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing and played football at Christ the King and Richardson High. He was a true Dallas Cowboy fan. His greatest joy was his “gift of gab” and relished in talking to people and never met a stranger. Nothing overshadowed the love and devotion that Robert had for his mother and best friend. Robert will be remembered as a practical joker with a sense of humor that kept everyone smiling, but what will be missed most is his genuine, selfless, and thoughtful personality who touched so many lives. Among his favorite things, Robert was passionate about nature and especially indulged in the care of his plants. His kind heart extended even further as he doted on the companionship of pets. Robert had much affection for animals.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all those whose heart he touched. He is survived by his mother, Jeanne McKinney; aunt, Delores Boyd; and numerous loving cousins and friends. He joins his father, Arnold McKinney, to be with our Lord and Savior.
His family invites friends and colleagues to services that celebrate his life. Services will be held in the Calvary Hill Funeral Home chapel located at 3235 Lombardy Lane, Dallas, TX 75220. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 17th from 10AM to 2PM. The ceremony, Liturgy of the Word, will follow at 2:00PM. Committal will take place immediately after at the Calvary Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
