Robert William Foster "Bob"

Family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 11AM-1PM at TED DICKEY WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7990 President George Bush Tpke, Dallas, TX 75252 where a Funeral Service will begin at 1PM. Interment services will be private.

Robert was born in Rockville, Maryland, on August 28, 1936. Bob attended Southwest Assembly of God High School and graduated in 1954. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many.

Robert is survived by his twin brother Ralph, sister Kathy, and numerous nephews and nieces. Robert was preceded in death by one son, Robert W. Foster II, and Robbie Beardon, as well as three siblings: two girls, Bessie and Jennie, and two boys, Buddy and Donnie.

After spending 14 years in Maryland, the family moved to Texas, where Robert made a lasting impact in the community. Robert, also known as Bob, dedicated 32 years to serving as a firefighter for the Dallas Fire Department, retiring as a Captain in 1991. He was also a proud owner of the Plano Fence Company. Bob also worked part-time for Enterprise Car Rental for 20 years. His commitment to service extended beyond his professional life as he joined the Masons in Plano, earning the degree of EA on October 13, 1994, progressing to Fellowcraft on February 16, 1995, and Master Mason on March 30, 1995.

Bob was Masonic Lodge # 837 member. They were active members of the clown regiments and visited the Shiner’s Hospitals and Burn Units frequently. In 2014, he took on the role of Hella Clown and was affectionately known as CapBob. Above all, Robert cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, D’Ann Foster, and his four children: Kimberly and her spouse, Keith Causey; Martee and her spouse, Jace Sepulvado; Martin Hannah and his spouse, Regina. His legacy continues through his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Robert will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

We would also like to thank our caregiver, Veronica, for doing an amazing job caring for him during his home care. His kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family will always be remembered. May he rest in peace.
