Richard was born in Detroit, Michigan, to Raymond Martinez, Jr. and Hortense Martinez on November 7, 1962. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1980 and attended classes at Eastfield College where he studied videography and created films for public access television. He worked at the Sears Warehouse, Dallas Times Herald, Alliance Charities, Dallas Morning News, and the family restaurant, Ramone’s. He married Judy Kaufman on January 4, 1997.
Richard had a passion for God, his family, martial arts and body building. He was a talented artist, creating drawings, portraits, and warrior angels. Richard was a gifted storyteller and published his first Christian-fiction novel in 2016.
Despite facing many physical adversities, his commitment to God and his entire family was unwavering. He has been a living example of putting others first and did not let his physical limitations stop him from serving the lord and those in his life.
Richard is survived by his wife, Judy; sons, David and Joel; granddaughter, Nicole; mother, Hortense; brothers, David and Gilbert; nieces, Alexis and Julia; nephews, Attikus and Maddox.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Martinez, Jr.
