Richard Keith Boyd (74) of Plano, TX passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 after a lengthy illness. He was born June 3, 1940 to Milton & Elisabeth Boyd of Grosse Pointe, MI and was 1 of 7 children. He met the love of his life, Susan O'Connor of Manhasset, NY, and together they enjoyed 50 years of happy marriage in MI & TX. He is survived by their children, Kelly Carrillo, Brian Boyd, Sheila Peacock (husband Justin) & Megan Malan (husband Scott), plus 7 grandchildren, Macy, Madison, Hailey, Connor, Gavin, Drew & Jake. Dick enjoyed 2 careers, 31 years at GM and 12 at American Airlines. To quote Dick, "I've had a GREAT life." He will be remembered for his quick wit, his love of family and friends, and a passion for antique cars. One memorable highlight was his family's suprise on his 70th B'Day to an afternoon ride in a black 1939 Cadillac limo. A visitation will be held on Friday, March 13 from 7-9pm with a Vigil service at 7:30pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, 75252. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14 at 11am at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 5100 W. Plano Pkwy, Plano, 75093. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (jdrf.org) or a charity of your choice.
