Reginald was born in Shreveport, LA to the late Henry Williams and Reba Pikes on June 14, 1965. He graduated from Green Oaks High School in 1983. After high school Reginald attended Grambling State University and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science in 1987. While attending Grambling he became a member of the distinguished men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Delta Sigma Chapter in the Spring of 1986.
After graduating from Grambling State University, Reginald moved to Dallas, TX in 1990 and on the 4th day of July 1992, married Canefa Murray and the fireworks never stopped. He was devoted to his family, his friends and his fraternity. He lived by the Alpha motto “First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All". Reginald was an active member of the Alpha Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. At an early age, he gave his life to Christ and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. After moving to Dallas, he became a member of Friendship-West Baptist Church, Dallas, TX.
Reginald was employed by Dallas Fire and Rescue on January 29, 1992. In his 29 years of service, Reginald advanced through the ranks to Captain. On May 5, 2000, he received the Medal of Valor for Duties Performed with Bravery, Dedication above and beyond The Call of Duty on April 25, 1999 from the Black Fire Fighters Assoc. of Dallas.
Captain Reginald Dewayne Williams was called from his Labor to his Reward in Glory on Monday, April 5, 2021. Reginald was welcomed by his father, Henry Williams and mother, Reba Pikes.
Reginald leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of twenty-nine years, Canefa Williams and daughters, April “Nikki” Smith (Toni) and Amber “Sweetcake” Williams and a host of uncles, aunts, family and friends.
