Rebecca Nabors, age 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Dallas, Texas. She was born on Thursday, August 11, 1949, to J.W. and Dorothy Richey. Rebecca was raised in the Pleasant Grove area of Dallas, Texas, and graduated from W.W. Samuel High School in 1967. In 1968, she married the love of her life, Leroy Nabors, and together they raised three children, born in 1970, 1974, and 1978.
Rebecca dedicated the first 20 plus years of her adult life to being a devoted housewife and mother, raising her children with love and grace. Later, she worked as an accountant for RC Cola for many years, followed by a position as secretary at Master’s Academy High School for two and a half years. Most recently, she served as a scheduler for Baylor Scott & White Rheumatology, where she worked for over eight years, known for her kindness and diligence.
In her spare time, Rebecca found joy in spending time with and spoiling her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her heart was always open—not only to her family, but to the many children she lovingly fostered over the years. A devoted member of the Red Hat Society, she brought color, laughter, and friendship wherever she went.
She had a passion for gardening, could often be found working a puzzle, and loved the quiet fun of solitaire—especially when she heard the cheerful "win" noise from her phone games. Rebecca was also sharp and competitive when playing Canasta, often outplaying her opponents with strategy and a smile.
Rebecca will be remembered as someone who lit up every room she entered. Her joyful laughter, vibrant spirit, and deep sense of humor brought comfort and joy to many. She was a welcoming presence—supportive, encouraging, and always ready with a kind word or thoughtful gesture. She lived to give and to serve others with love.
A Godly woman, Rebecca's faith was central to her life. She volunteered with the Singles Ministry, and her love for worshipping the Lord was evident in everything she did. She was also a gifted singer, having performed regularly on a weekly Christian television show and as a guest singer for Women’s Aglow events.
Rebecca’s creativity knew no bounds—she spent countless hours knitting baby hats, making blankets, and sewing items for those in need. Her handmade gifts were donated to organizations including Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and a nursing home in Waxahachie.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Dorothy Richey; her brother, David Richey; and her cherished grandson, Hunter Chadwick.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Nabors and Brandi Nabors Lim; her son, Leroy Nabors Jr.; her sister, Dolores Dawson; and her brother, Paul Richey. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Joshua Nabors, Caleb Nabors, Christopher Lim, Thomas Lim, Mei Lim, Kaylie Nabors, Leroy Nabors III (Royce), Koen Nabors, and Brayan Nabors. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: JaCory Davis, Joshua Nabors Jr. (June Bug), Jaxson Nabors, and Madeleine Nabors.
Rebecca's life was a living testimony of love, faith, and service. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the joy of knowing her.
