Peggy Joyce Johnson was born in Dallas County of Dallas, Texas on June 27, 1942, to the parentage of Eugene and Lillie Mae Brown. She was number ten out of sixteen children. She was formally educated in Dallas, Texas.
Peggy worked for James Madison High School in the school cafeteria, and later worked for Sentry Insurance, and the City of Dallas in the Parks Department at the Dallas Zoo, and in the Court Services Department until her retirement in 1999. She was a member of Christian Workers Baptist Church of Dallas, Texas.
On Saturday, May 26, 2018, Peggy Joyce Johnson passed from this life to eternal life. There to greet her at the pearly gates were her parents, Eugene and Lillie Mae Brown; sisters and brothers, Eugenia Johnson, Sammie Brown, John Tyler Brown, Bernard Brown, Betty Lott, Mae Alice Evans, Frances Murrell, Chester Brown, Sandra Brown, Marvin Brown, and Don Brown.
She leaves to mourn: her son, Steven E. Brown (Tamu) of Cedar Hill, Texas; her grandchildren, Stephenie Mayes (Hollie) of Dallas, Texas, and Tamerika Brown of Cedar Hill, Texas; and great-granddaughter, Hallie Mayes of Dallas, Texas; her sisters and brother, Juanita Williams of Arlington, Texas, Angelina Flemming of DeSoto, Texas, Paul Brown of Riverside, California, and Sylvia Evans of Las Vegas, Nevada; good friend, Ruby Hawkins; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
