Paul Francis Vernon, born August 25, 1936 passed peacefully in his sleep in the early morning of September 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents Paul Franklin Vernon and Hazel Reilly Vernon as well as his wife Sally Hampton Vernon. Paul is survived by his two sons: Paul Franklin Vernon and David Hampton Vernon, his daughter in Law Lori Ann Vernon, and two granddaughters: Madeline Paige Vernon and Miranda Grace Vernon, as well as his beloved dog Heidi.
Paul was raised in Shielder, OK and was one of only two of his graduating class to leave for college. He received an undergraduate degree in History from OU and a Juris Doctorate from SMU. Throughout his adult life Paul was an avid cyclist, enjoying daily rides around White Rock Lake, or traversing peaks and valleys near their summer homes in the mountains of Colorado, and on vacations on the Big Island of Hawaii.
Paul was loved and respected by colleagues, friends, and family, and will be missed.
A memorial service for Paul will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
