Pat was born on December 4, 1935 to Floyd and Maggie Brown in Murchison, Texas and was the youngest of four children. She was blessed to be raised in a loving, hardworking, humble home with Christian parents who loved the Lord. A few years later, the family moved to Dallas, Texas where Pat, at age 16, would meet the handsome love of her life, Mickey Quillin. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage and were blessed with two daughters.
Pat was kind, loving, funny, sweet, graceful, faithful and never met a stranger. She was quick-witted and lived her life in laughter. When she walked into a room, it was as if she were gliding on air as she moved so gracefully with elegance and poise. She loved the little children in her church and was known to carry dollar bills to put in their little hands.
She faithfully served Mt. Auburn (later named Hillview Terrace) Assembly of God church by using her talent to play the piano and organ for over 50 years. Her music blessed many generations. She and Mickey also served in Christ Ambassadors, taught College & Career class and traveled with Nancy Harmon Ministries. Pat was also a successful realtor and she and Mickey built custom homes in the 1970’s and 1980’s. A true joy to Pat was when she and Mickey opened “Quillin’s Fashions & Accessories”. She loved interacting with her customers and meeting new friends. Many times people would come into the shop just to be around her and chat.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, O.D. “Mickey” Quillin, her parents Floyd K. and Maggie Brown, her parents-in-law Rev. Leon C. and Lucille Quillin, her two brothers Travis Brown (Marie), F. Olen Brown (Jean) and sister Mary Brown Scott Pyles (A.C/Austin).
Pat is survived by:
Two loving daughters - Vicki Quillin Green (husband Rev. James L.) and daughter Tammie Quillin.
Grandchildren - Chad Green (wife Melissa) and Misti Green Peña (husband Dr. Raúl).
Great Grandchildren - Chad’s daughters Tori and Madison. Misti’s children Jameson, Cipporah and Chasen.
Great Great Grandchildren: Tori’s children Isla and Luka.
Loving niece and live-in care companion, Jan Scott.
Loving friend and care companion, Sarah Joines.
Pat was always glowing and living in the light and love of Jesus Christ. On any day she could be asked how she was doing and her quick response with a little grin would be “I’m on top of the world with my feet dangling down”. No truer words have ever been spoken today.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.Grove-Hill.com for the Quillin family.
