Ora received her formal education for the Dallas Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. She met James “Jimmy” Hill and they married. To this union, four daughters and one son was born.
Ora lived a full and vibrant life and she was affectionately called “Mama Dee” and “BeBe”. She was a people person and never met a stranger. She retired from American Airlines. After her retirement, she was blessed to work as an extra for “Texas, Walker Ranger” and assist with locating extras for the television series. She loved to travel and travel she did. She also loved singing, fishing, bowling, the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers and organizing events. Ora loved her family and her church but mostly of all, she loved God.
Having accepted Christ at an early age, her Christian journey started when she joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in April 1938, under Rev. S. G. Gooden. She was a faithful, dedicated and active member for more than 80 years. She served in many areas of the church, including the S.G. Gooden Inspirational Choir and Sunday morning receptionist. She was also a member of the Galedas Sunday School Class until her failing health in November 2018.
Ora was preceded in death by her parents - Jesse and Savanah Wedgeworth, four brothers – Bernie, Willie Hugh, Richard “Jug” and Robert “Bob” Wedgeworth and two sisters - Jessie Lee Jones and Theresa “LaVern” Brooks.
She leaves to cherish her precious and loving memory one brother - Audrey Dee Wedgeworth (Carolyn) of Ft Worth, TX and one sister - Peggy Nelson of Compton, CA; her children - Carolyn Watson of Arlington, TX, Wanda Love of Mesquite, TX, Willie Hill (Joyce) of Rowlett, TX, Beverly Starnes (Dean) and Peggy Clark of Mesquite, TX; nine grandchildren - Marlon Hill, Calvin Clark, Michele Martin (Russell), Brian Love, Richard Love (Candice), Denise Bullock, Reginald Bullock, Steven Wyrick (Tina), Brianna Wyrick Bluestein (Ian); twenty-three great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
