Mr. Oliver O. Dean, Jr.

Oliver was born March 17, 1932 in Dallas, Texas to Jonnie and Oliver Dean.

Oliver grew up in Dallas and right after high school began working for Western Electric. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to Western Electric until he reached retirement age.

In 1950, Oliver met the love of his life, Jackie Chapman and was married for 66 happy years. Together they made a life in Oak Cliff and raised their son, Gary.

Oliver was an avid racecar owner and mechanic and was a friend to everyone he met at the track. He was involved in racing his entire life, and even instilled his love of racing in his son, Gary, and two grandsons, Nathan and Andrew.

Oliver is survived by his son, Gary Dean of Lewisville, his sister Caroline and her husband Jerry McAden of La Porte, his brother Robert, his grandson Nathan and wife Amber, and another grandson Andrew and wife Jessica. Oliver’s great granddaughters name is Vivian.

Oliver was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jackie Dean.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15 at 1:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
