Olen A. Roberts

Roberts, Olen A. ChFC, CLU, Lt.Col. (Retired). Born 3/10/1927 died 1/25/2011. He was born in Nixon, Texas to Alvro and Lois Moses Roberts. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Elder Ray Roberts. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Helen Johnson Roberts and his daughter C. Beth Roberts. Other family members include Lawson and John Paul Roberts and cousins in Houston, San Antonio and surrounding cities. Olen retired form CIGNA in 1991 and was among the top 5 producers for several years and featured by CIGNA in Time Magazine. He continued working with Lincoln Financial Advisors until 2008. He was a member of Highland Park Methodist Church; a long time member of Lakewood Country Club; and a member of military organizations MOAA and ROA . In early 1944, he entered military service and was sent to Germany as Special Forces, responsible for displaced citizens of Europe. He also served in the Vietnam War. He received his BA and MBA degrees from Baylor University in 1953. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest. Funeral services to follow on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 9:30 a.m., at Northwest Highway Chapel. He will be buried at DFW National Cemetery following the services.
