Michelle Cook, a beloved wife and mother departed this world on January 14, 2024, at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She faced a courageous battle with Systemic Scleroderma, displaying unwavering strength until the end.
Born on May 21, 1967, in Dallas, Texas. Michelle touched the lives of all who knew her with unmatched character, kindness, generosity, and boundless love. She was a dedicated and loving aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend to all her relatives and chosen family. Her energy and spirit will forever be in our hearts. She spent her early years at St. Rita Catholic School, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, and W.T. White High School before pursuing higher education at Texas Tech University.
Michelle’s path would forever be changed when she met the love of her life, Kevin Stanton Cook, her husband of 32 years. Their inseparable bond led to a beautiful marriage on May 1, 1992. Together, they built a strong and loving family; including her sons James Stanton Cook and Kevin Joseph “Joe” Cook. In addition to her immediate family, surviving her in spirit, is her sister-in-law, Colleen Cook Collins. Michelle will be deeply missed by her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and godchildren; all of whom she loved dearly. She joins her father, James Lucian LaBarba, mother, Carmen Euleta LaBarba, sister-in-law, Cathy Cook Phillips and nephew, Austin Hunter Collins, who preceded her in death.
Michelle cherished every moment with her family. Her devotion, love and passions for Kevin, James and Joe were immeasurable. Her vibrant energy lit up every room, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
A Rosary Prayer Service will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 10:45 AM, followed by the burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park. A reception will follow at Northwood Country Club.
Michelle Cook will be dearly missed and forever remembered for the light she brought into our lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
