Melody was born on January 8, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas, to Paula Doty and Steve Brown, and was adopted by the wonderful and loving Marshall and Olga Marie Marks. Melody was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and friend, whose vibrant spirit and boundless love for others left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Melody's warmth, kindness, and generosity of spirit made everyone feel special and valued. She had a zest for life, always eager to explore new adventures and share in the laughter and joy of those around her. Above all, Melody's greatest love was for her family, and her happiest moments were spent with her children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and friends. She had an incredible gift for making people feel loved and cared for, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
On June 18, 2005, Melody married her best friend and true love, Charles Ramirez, and together they built a life filled with love, happiness, and cherished memories. She was proud of her two children, Kenneth Gross and Amber Miller, as well as her three stepchildren, Derrick Ramirez, Brandon Ramirez, and Jared Ramirez. Melody’s love for her grandchildren, Lainey Miller, Lillian Gross, Galilee Ramirez, and Craig Miller knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment she spent with them.
Melody had a special passion for travel, particularly to Miami, and she had always dreamed of returning to Italy to celebrate her 2oth wedding anniversary with her husband after a trip there that she loved dearly. She also had a deep love for her Dallas Cowboys, following them with great enthusiasm and spirit. Her eclectic taste in music was another reflection of her joyful and free-spirited nature.
Later in life, Melody sought out and joyfully reunited with her biological parents, creating a close relationship with them and continued to nurture this bond through letters and visits.
Melody is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Ramirez; her children, Kenneth Gross and Amber Miller; her stepchildren, Derrick Ramirez, Brandon Ramirez, and Jared Ramirez; her grandchildren, Lainey Miller, Lillian Gross, Galilee Ramirez, and Craig Miller; her half-siblings, Rich (Shonda) Doty, Chuck (Jill) Doty, David (Mariel) Doty, and Susan (Karsten) Hall; and many dear friends and extended family members.
