Melinda Thompson, age 69, passed away on December 7,2023 in Mesquite, TX. She was born on January 27,1954 in Alexandria, LA to J.W. JR. and Carolle Thompson. Melinda was raised in Mesquite, TX and graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1972.
She was a tele-communications specialist at AT&T where she worked for more than 26 years while raising her only son; the late Taylor Thompson. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening playing solitaire, watching crime shows, shopping and going out to eat.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a kind, loving, giving and very caring person. She loved dressing her loved ones and had a very good eye for fashion, and she would always make sure everyone around her was taken care of.
She is preceded in death by son; Taylor Thompson, father; J.W. Thompson JR., mother; Carolle Rollins Thompson, grandmother; Grace Rollins and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Melinda is survived by sister; Marianne Thompson, nephew; Jeff (Elisha) Randle, great nephew; Hunter Randle, great niece; Zoe Randle, great nephew Mykel Binder, great niece Mya Randle, great nephew Alex Morris.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made to Keystone Church of Mesquite Missionary Ministry or baking team in memory of Melinda Thompson.
