Melesio "Papo" Zavala Perez

Melesio "Papo" Zavala Perez, 94, of Dallas, Texas passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022. Papo was born November 28, 1927 Salamanca Guanajuato, Mexico to Eusebio Perez and Maria Zavala Perez. Melesio was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Crozier Technical High School.

He served in the Air Force WW2 1945-1948. He married Pascuala Perez in 1950 and the couple had two children. He was a Civil Engineer at the City of Dallas Water Department, where he worked for more than fifty-three years. In his spare time he enjoyed attending Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses, raising his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, the sport of football; especially the Dallas Cowboys.

His family and friends will always remember him as a hard worker, devoted family man, loving husband, father, grandfather, along with his faith in Jehovah and his love for his family.

He is preceded in death by Pascuala Perez (wife), Adaoliva Damaris Chapa (granddaughter), Eusebio Perez and Maria Zavala Perez (parents), Serapio Perez (brother), Leonore Perez Carrillo (sister), Eugene Perez (brother).

He is survived by his son, Estevan Perez and wife, Nikki; daughter, Dahlia Perez; granddaughter, Lanette Chapa; granddaughter, Stefani Maria Perez; grandsons, Daven Eli Chapa, Melesio Chapa; great-granddaughter, Sadie Weigle; great-grandson, Matthew Davila; great-great-granddaughter, Kaite Chapa; great-granddaughter, Viviana Elisa Chapa; great-grandson, Daven Elias Chapa; great-granddaughter, Valeria Adrianna Chapa; great-grandson, Marco Adrian Chapa; great-granddaughter, Chloe Lilianna Chapa; great-great-granddaughter, Emery Ann Weigle; great- grandson, Alejandro A. Chapa; great-grandson, Sebastian P. Chapa; sisters, Sophia Fraga, Elvira Diaz, Hortencia Perez; brothers, Delfino Perez, Eusebio "Bob" Perez Jr., Edmundo "Red" Perez.

A visitation for Papo will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gonzalez Funeral Home and Crematory, 3050 N Stemmons Freeway, Dallas, Texas 75247, followed by a Bible talk from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
