Matt was born to Maria Schutt and Wesley Miller, Jr. on August 24, 1971, in Toledo, OH. He graduated from Northview High School and went on to attend John Carroll University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Matt followed this with an MBA at the University of San Diego. Matt’s career ultimately led him to Dallas, TX, where he planted his roots.
In Dallas, Matt’s friends and associates soon became his family. Through these relationships, barbeques, vacations and weekend afternoons, Matt became a surrogate brother, uncle and extended family member to his newly found, but forever growing, Dallas family. Matt also found a love of biking, boating and hunting. He also enjoyed some of the finer things in life, including watches, shoes, TVs and shopping. Matt looked forward to spending holidays and momentous occasions in his original home of Ohio, visiting with the countless friends and family that he is survived by back home. Matt’s family would describe him as fun-loving and witty, always the life of the party and quick with a joke. Matt loved to cook, but hated to clean, though he didn’t seem to mind eating whatever he made.
Matt is survived by his father Wesley (Lucinda) Miller and his mother Maria Schutt, siblings Michelle (Jerry) Matney, Cara Smith and Lisa (Chris) Jaeger, nephews Timothy (Mia) Scott, Ian Nunamaker, Lennon LaCourse, nieces Jaycee Smith, Morgan, Lauren and Sidney Jaeger, great-nieces Laina and Lillian Scott and great-nephew Lincoln Scott.
He is preceded in death by stepfather James Schutt, stepsisters Cathy and Janet Schutt, maternal grandparents Lottie and Marion Wrobel, and paternal grandparents Rose and Wesley Miller, Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest, located at 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX, 75225, on September 30th from 4pm - 8pm with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM.
