Mary Link Malone, 80, died peacefully in her sleep at home in Dallas on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Born March 26, 1930, Mary grew up in Dallas and graduated from Highland Park High School in 1947. Mary enjoyed an outstanding college career at Randolph-Macon College in Lynchburg, VA, where she majored in political science; served as president of her sorority, Pi Beta Phi; was chosen for membership in the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa; and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1951. After graduating from college, she married Wallace S. Wilson and lived in Houston, where she was president of the Junior League of Houston, 1968-1969, and where she raised two children, Barry and Ellen. Mary later married Jim Grizzard. Mary was known by those close to her as a gracious, dear and loving friend, a lady who was accomplished and intelligent. In traveling the world, she became passionate about archeology and participated in many architectural digs in Italy. She went back to school and obtained a Master of Arts in the Classics Program at the University of Texas in Austin. A member of Saint Michael and All Angels Church in Dallas, Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph W. Malone and Johnnie Link Malone, and her husband, James Grizzard. She is survived by a son, W. Barry Wilson; a daughter, Elizabeth Ellen Wilson, M.D.; son-in-law, Andrew Hewes; and her granddaughter, Brookie Wilson Hewes. A private family interment precedes her memorial service, to be held at 11 a.m., Monday, October 25, 2010, in the Chapel at Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 8011 Douglas Ave., Dallas.
