Mary Agnes Cowan was born on January 22, 1925 in Buffalo, New York to Bruno and Agnes Lewandowski. Mary departed this life on February 15, 2015 at the age of 90. She grew up working in her family's bakery and married the love of her life, Bill Cowan, on September 6, 1947. As a Navy wife, she had the ability to make a home anywhere for her husband and their three children. As a mother, she had a sense of humor that came through no matter what. As a sister or aunt, she was the "fun one". Mary had many interests; among them were sewing, traveling, baking, painting, ceramics, and being with her family and friends. Mary is survived by her sister, Irene Lambert, and her three children: Deborah and her husband Dr. William A Calley, Sr., William Cowan and his wife Sharon, Ellen and her husband, Dr. Steven Mudrovich. Grandchildren include Dr. William A Calley Jr., Kathryn and her husband,Dr. Joseph Peevey, Geoffrey and John Cowan, Alexander and Mary Margaret Mudrovich.
