Martha Marie Brown Vrla was born on July 3, 1930 in Dayton, OH and passed away on August 22,2015 in Dallas, TX. She was a charter member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Martha was a member of the Dallas Elks Ladies of Lodge 71, SPJST Lodge 130, KJT 111, Catholic Daughters of America and Dallas Circle of Czech Women. She loved playing bingo at Elks 71, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family. Martha graduated from Cotulla High School and started working for Southwestern Bell in Dallas before marrying her devoted husband in 1950 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Dallas. She was a homemaker and they raised 4 children, Teresa, Kenneth, Steven, and John. She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley, son Steven, parents Harry and Annie Brown, and her brother Richard Brown. Martha was a very devoted wife and mother who was dearly loved. She is survived by 3 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends, 6 – 8pm, Thursday, August 27. 2015, with a Rosary to begin 7pm, at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held, 10 am, Friday, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Very Rev. John Libone,VF, celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery.
