Mark Thomas Harman, 35, of Dallas, Texas, left this world on July 27, 2019. He was born in Dallas, Texas on September 15, 1983. Mark graduated from North Mesquite High School and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD).
Mark was a life saver and caregiver in the truest sense of the word. It was his gift to the world. He worked as a Paramedic for Acadian Ambulance Services, seeing people at their very worst on a daily basis and giving them hope for recovery. With that medical experience, he took healing to the next level when he invented the Atlas Foam Roller. He truly believed that was the best way to get rid of simple, everyday aches and ailments to help people live a more stress-free life. He also helped people heal through his stretch therapy classes. It fulfilled him to know he was making a difference.
He was a gentle giant, often coming across as large and confident but hardwired to problem-solve and help. He was sharply in-tune with others’ needs, especially one-on-one, and had a genuine desire to do good and leave this world a better place than he found it. His faith in God was a true source of comfort for him.
Mark was a beloved son and brother, a friend, an uncle, a coworker, an athlete, a healer, a creative, an inventor, a lover, and a fighter. We’ll miss his compassion, sense of humor, tough love, thoughts on how to live a healthier life, drive to be a better person, and passion for all the things he cared for so deeply.
He was survived by his parents, Tom and Sharon Harman; his siblings, Michael Harman, Stephen and Robyn (Stroud) Harman and their children Ethan and Ben, and David and Rebecca (Mattingly) Harman and their children Augusta and Elias; his Grandparents, Travis Harman and Patricia Harwerth; and over 50 aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Bobbie Jo Montgomery, Mary Harman, and Robert Harwerth, Jr.
Visitation and prayers will be held on Sunday, August 4, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Garland, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 5 at 10:30 AM St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Garland, TX followed by a brief luncheon in the parish hall. Private burial will follow for immediate and extended family at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
You can honor Mark's life by reaching out to someone who is struggling, by helping others heal in any way, and by fearlessly pursuing your passion in this world.
