She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on April 20, 1924 to the late Dr. Will Hausser and Ola Jones Hausser. She had two sisters, Lucille Pryor, deceased, of Portland, Michigan and Eloise DeMaris of Centerville, Maryland. Marjorie is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, architect, Jack Wood. They moved from Illinois to Dallas in 1951. They were long-standing members of the First Baptist Church, Dallas, for over 60 years. She is preceded in death by her son, Gary. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Tamra Heath and husband Jesse; grandchildren, David Heath and his wife, Bethy, Kelly Isbell and her husband, Chris, and Daniel Heath.
Marjorie had 6 great grandchildren, Morgan, Madeline and Brady Heath and McKenzie, Connor and Preston Isbell.
The family would like to sincerely thank Ellen Booth for her love and dedication to Marjorie and Jack these past three years. Many thanks to the friends of the families for their continued support
and love. Marjorie will always be remembered for her cheerful and accommodating demeanor, especially toward her family.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 11, 6-8pm. Her funeral will be Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 2pm, both at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home in Dallas. Burial will be following at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marjorie’s honor can be made to Criswell College of Dallas and The Alzheimer’s Association.
