Maria Otila Moreno

Maria Otila Moreno, age 84, of Dallas, Texas passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. She was born in Coahuila, Mexico on December 13, 1939 to parents Maria Isabel Martinez and Catarino Martinez. Maria spent her life taking care of her family. She is survived by numerous children, grandchildren and extended family members. She will be missed by all.

She was married to Jose Angel Moreno on January 6, 1961 and was a devoted housewife and caretaker of her family. Maria had a passion for cooking and working in her garden.

Maria is survived by her children, Maria Teresa DeLeon, Maria De Los Angeles Tellez and Iris Moreno (Javier Tellez); grandchildren, Jimmy, Sabina, Adolph and Cindy Galaviz, Greg Jr., Marcus, Jorge and Alex Tellez, Anita Ortegon, Martin Moreno Jr. and Jose R. Moreno; siblings, Esperanza Garcia, Yolanda Lira, Jose Angel Martinez and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jose Angel Moreno and their three sons, Francisco Moreno, Jose Andres (Bevis) Moreno, and Martin (Chicho) Moreno.

Maria lived a life with her faith in God and with a grand passion for her family. She led by example with a kind heart a strong will and words of wisdom. She stood strong and always carried herself with dignity and respect. She was very much loved and she will be truly missed.

A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218 with a rosary at 7:30 PM. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church in Dallas. Burial will follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.
