Margaret Ann Clark Bauer passed away March 1, 2024 at her home in Coppell, Texas. She was born October 1928 in Compton California to Thomas and Margaret Clark. She married Eugene James Bauer Jr. in 1950. Gene and Margie had a love story that spanned over 73 years.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed dabbling in the dirt for 90 years. Margie had 10 green fingers and produced amazing gardens from sprouts-sometimes even nicking a starter plant or seeds from the roadside here and there. People always stopped to admire her garden and its beauty including taking a photo or two. She also enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing with family, nephews and nieces as spending time with family and her grandchildren.
She created a very successful business designing and selling cotton feed sacks, stuffed bears, cats, dolls and Santa’s made from scrapped quilts, clothing and much more. Margie and Gene also restored treadle sewing machines and other antiques selling their restorations and creations in the US as well as internationally. They were known by many as the Bag Lady and Treadle Peddler.
She and Gene also enjoyed helping others in the community, food banks and church’s.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Bauer Jr., her father Tom Clark, mother Margaret Clark, brother Tom Clark Jr, sisters Ruthie Hoffman, Lois Beeny, and Dorothy King.
She is survived by her sons Eugene III, Mark, John, James and Mathew and her grandchildren Asha, Juli, Courtney, Emily, Noah, Lily and Anna and great grandchild Avery as well many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial for Margaret will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Hill North Chapel. Following mass will be a committal at Calvary Hill Cemetery, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, Texas 75220.
