Marcia Ehlers Acker was born in San Antonio, Texas December 23, 1936 to Eunice Etchieson Ehlers and Paul Ehlers. She entered her heavenly home on October 10, 2011. Marcia's belief in her Savior was the foundation for her daily living. She was a faithful member of the Park Cities Presbyterian Church and a member of the Covenant Class and many bible studies. Marcia graduated from Saint Mary's Hall in San Antonio and attended college at The Univ. of Oklahoma and graduated from the Univ. of Texas in Austin. She enjoyed membership in the Dallas Woman's Club, Mary Kay Craig Class, Armstrong Book Review Club, Marianne Scruggs Garden Club and her monthly sewing club. Marcia was a certified language therapist and for many years worked with learning difference children. She had a quiet and caring spirit always ready to listen and console. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years William (Bill) Acker, children Leigh Chandler and Paul Acker, son-in-law George Chandler, daughter-in-law Rachelle Acker and grandchildren Elizabeth, George and Katherine Chandler and John and Aubrey Acker. A memorial service will be held October 14, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Park Cities Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Marcia’s name to MD Anderson Cancer Center in support of leiomyosarcoma research being funded through The Betsy Project (www.thebetsyproject.com).
