Madelyn “Madge” Burgesser Dameron died on February 10, 2013. She was born in Darien, Connecticut on January 19, 1921 to Eugene T. and Grace Nichols Burgesser and had three older siblings: Elizabeth, Donald, and Edith.
A talented artist, she graduated from Parsons School of Design, worked in the fashion industry in New York City, and designed patterns for Vogue. Madge met the love of her life, Charles F. Dameron Sr., at a USO dance during World War II, and she spent the rest of her life with him in Dallas, raising three children and enjoying many lifelong friendships.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Survived by her children and their spouses: Charles (Chip) and Joan Dameron of Brownsville, Mark and Ginny Dameron of San Antonio, and Elizabeth (Betsy) Joseph of Dallas. Her four grandsons are Nicholas Rose, Adam Rose, Michael Dameron, and Charlie Dameron.
Among her many passions were family trips, love of books, gardening, and serving Westminster Presbyterian Church by helping in the nursery on Sunday mornings. Madge continued to paint all her life, specializing in portraits and landscapes, and she taught painting classes for many years. She made her home a haven of peacefulness for family and friends. Kind hearted and good humored, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
The family is grateful for the loving care and attention provided by the wonderful staff at Sunrise at Hillcrest Assisted Living and VITAS Hospice Care.

Memorial Service will be held at Sparkman/Hillcrest on Friday, February 15, at 2:00 p.m., with a reception will follow.
