Louise Woods Ferguson Willis, 89, was born on June 28, 1921 in Fisher County, Texas and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 13, 2011. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, E. K. Willis, Jr., whom she married in Sweetwater, Texas on June 1, 1946. She was Salutatorian of her high school class in Sylvester, Texas. After high school, she attended Texas Tech. Louise, or T.Z., as she was called by many family members who loved her, grew up on a farm in west Texas in a large and loving family. She was a devoted and loving wife to one man, an attentive and caring sister to six siblings, and most of all, an involved, wise and sacrificing mother to her two daughters. Much pride and laughter entered her life with each birth of her four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was Grandmother, Grandmanoo and G.G. She was inspirational, intelligent and full of determination. Her quick wit and humor will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her. She is survived by her two daughters, Dianne Etheredge and Lynda Willis of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Elliott K Etheredge and his wife Julie of Darien, Connecticut; Meagan Ann Sells and her husband Christopher David of Dallas, Texas; Bryce Wadle and Rhett Wadle of Dallas, Texas; four great grandchildren, Logan Grace Etheredge and Greyson Knowles Etheredge of Darien, Connecticut, and Lillian Ray Sells and Grace Kennedy Sells of Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Willis will lie in state at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Services will be held at First Baptist Dallas, Heritage Chapel at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011.
