Linda Gorsuch McNeely, age 82, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born in Houston Texas on August 22, 1941. She graduated from Abilene high school in 1959 and was involved in and a member of the fine arts club and the “charmality” club. She was married to James Wilson McNeely on December 23rd, 1961 in Fort Gordon, Georgia, and later moved to Richardson, Texas where they raised their two children, Jim and Christy.
Linda worked for over 20 years as an executive administrative assistant in the telecommunications industry. She loved dancing to music, attending summer musicals, watching the Dallas Cowboys play football, driving her convertible, caring for her dog Rocky, drawing and painting, laughing, and really had a zest for life. As a child, she traveled all around the country during each summer with her grandparents and spoke fondly about that time. As an adult, she loved to travel, especially to the Hill country in Texas, where she could see the wildflowers!
She was survived by James Wilson McNeely III and Christina Leah Lewis and her son-in-law Jon David Lewis, and her sisters Jan Gorsuch Shotts, Judy Gorsuch Collins, and Dawn Maxwell Zepeda.
She was also survived by her six grandchildren: James Wilson McNeely IV; Jonathan McNeely; Joseph McNeely; Josh McNeely; Brigitte Lewis; and Nathan Lewis and her two great grandchildren, James Wilson McNeely V, and Julian McNeely.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home at 7990 President George Bush Turnpike, Dallas, TX 75252
