LaRhonda (Rhonda) Michelle Houston, age 52, of Desoto, Texas was called home on Wednesday, December 30, 2020. LaRhonda was born on June 28, 1968 in Dallas, Texas to Faye Houston and Wilbert Houston. Rhonda was a 1986 graduate of Skyline high School and a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where she received a B.A. in Biology and a M.Ed. with a specialization in Sports Administration. She was a soror of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Rhonda’s faith journey called her to serve her church, her community, and her country. She was an active member of Concord Church serving in the Audiovisual Ministry and the Women’s Ministry including participation in countless Bible Study groups. Rhonda served as Chief of Staff to the President and CEO of the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Prior to joining the Bush Center, she was Director of Scheduling and Logistics for Hillwood. She was also on staff for the George W. Bush Administration as Special Assistant to the President and Deputy Director for the Office of Appointments and Scheduling, where she managed a staff responsible for the daily and long-term scheduling of events and travel for The President of the United States.
She enjoyed reading books, traveling the world, attending Texas Longhorns games, and spending time with her family and friends.
Rhonda was greeted at heaven’s gate by her family members who preceded her in death:
