Kede graduated from the Texas Academy Of Math And Science in 1997 and then went on to LeTourneau University and finally received her Masters in Counseling from the University of North Texas.
Kede was a born entertainer and a very gifted belly dancer from the age of 12. Isis and the Star Dancers became her extended family where she felt at home. She spent every spring on stage at the Scarborough Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie, TX. She was a gifted seamstress, making her own dance costumes and was an imaginative choreographer, winning many bellydance competitions.
Kede dedicated her life to being a math teacher, counselor, and Assistant Principal at Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts, a place where she shared her gifts with the upcoming generation of students. Kede provided guidance, unwavering emotional support and leadership to her students and co-workers.
In 2015 Kede and Matthew were married and made a life in Oak Cliff. In 2021 they welcomed their little miracle daughter Zoë into the world.
Six months later, on Kede’s 43rd birthday, she was diagnosed with leukemia. The following year on April 4, 2023 Kede passed away, surrounded by her loving family.
Kede is survived by her husband Matthew Van Dyck and daughter Zoë; aunt Diana Hollingsworth and her children Tahnya Hayes and her children Morgan, Murphy, Maguire; Alicia Manuel and her husband Corey and their kids Trenton, Ashlynne and Weston and Ryan Hayes and his daughter Ella Hayes; aunt Kay Ellen Eddins, aunt and uncle Elaine and Jerry Beason; cousin Scot Brown and his children Megan and Molly Brown; Jason and Terra Brown and their children Jordan, Jacob and Joshua Brown; Tyler and Jennifer Beason and their children Emma and Caleb Beason; cousin Alison Beason; parents-in-law William Clark and Elizabeth Van Dyck; sister in-law Amy Hay and her husband Daniel, and their children Sadie, Jackson, Bonnie, Ruthie and James; sister in-law Jenny Blair and her husband Donald Blair and their children Donnie and Hudson Blair; and a plethora of friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Dona Kay Hollingsworth and Raymond Wesley Eddins.
