She was born in Dallas, Texas, on May 15, 1966. Kathy graduated from Winston Churchill High School in San Antonio, Texas, and received her BBA - Cum Laude from Southern Methodist University in 1988. She was married to George T. Turner, II on August 28, 1993.
Kathy had a career in Finance for M Bank and Bank One and retired as the CFO of National Dairy Holdings. She was a member of HPUMC, Park Cities NCL, Highland Park PTA, Junior League of Houston, and was a SMU Alumi Board Member and a SMU Mustang Club Board Member. Kathy had a passion for volunteerism, travel and, most importantly, friends and family.
Kathy passed away from a 7 year battle with ovarian cancer. She was known for her hard work in any task she took on. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She lived everyday with grace, courage and bravery always thinking of others first. She didn’t want to talk about her battle with cancer, and she strived to live a normal life above the pain. Her transition from success in the corporate sector was followed most importantly by being a dedicated mom and servant of God.
She was preceded in death by her father Charles “Chuck” McCoy. She was survived by her husband George Turner, mother Ann McCoy, daughter Carly Turner, brother Steve McCoy, his wife Robin and his daughter Molly.
There will be a celebration of life ceremony at a future date to be determined at Highland Park United Methodist Church.
