Judy Walker Duck was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Daniel William Beckner and Gladys Marguerite Jones who predeceased her. She had a loving and close relationship with her maternal grandfather and grandmother, Huston Taylor Jones and Alma Ester Gates Jones as well as her paternal grandmother, Sarah Cordelia Robertson Beckner and her paternal aunt, Alma Beckner.
She graduated Will Rogers High School, in Tulsa and the University of Oklahoma. She moved to Dallas, Texas and worked for the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and ultimately opened her own business doing billing and collections for physicians for thirty years.
She married James Carrol Duck in 1982 in St Georges, Bermuda, who predeceased her.
She had a generous heart and supported many charities, including Straydog, St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis, Southeastern Guide Dogs, Visiting Nurses Association, Meals on Wheels and Meals on Wheels for Pets and Baylor University Medical Center.
After retirement she moved to Edgemere Independent Living where she taught art and was a member of the Knit Wits, making hats for the Ukrainian children and for newborns at local hospitals.
She died in Dallas with interment being at Sparkman/Hillcrest Memorial Park beside her husband.
