Judith Lynne Piland

Judith Lynne Piland, 67, of Dallas passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, at her residence in Corpus Christi, Texas. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all that knew her.

She was born in Dallas, Texas, on January 16th, 1954, to Joseph and Margaret Hounchell. She married the love of her life, Paul D. Piland, on February 14th, 1985. She attended college at Stephen F. Austin University and later went on to become President of her family business, Daystar Inc., which was successful for over 50 years. Throughout her career, she conducted business in over 9 countries and several states here in the U.S. Once retired, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. Judy appreciated the small details in life and made the most of every day she had, despite her health hardships.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Paul D. Piland; Daughter, Jordan Mauldin and her husband, Zane Mauldin; Daughter, Shana Piland; Son, Chris Piland; Grandchildren, Riley Mauldin, Madison Garrett, Allie Skowron, Noah Skowron, Zachary Piland, Daniel Piland; Great grandchildren, Kai Piland, Saylor Piland. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Margaret Hounchell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, January 7th, 2022, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX, 75225. Inurnment will follow in Hillcrest Mausoleum and Memorial Park at a later date.
