Juanita C. Solares

The Lord took our Mother to her heavenly home on April 30, 2013. She was at her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her three sons and six daughters. She had 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. Her parents, four sisters and one brother predeceased her.

She was a lifelong resident of Little Mexico in Dallas, Texas where she raised her family on Pearl St. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Harwood St. where she was an active member of The Guadalupanas. She started the first matachines dance troupe for the Church in the 1960’s for the Novena of Our Lady of Guadalupe and had neighborhood children dance native Mexican dances.

The funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the North Chapel of Calvary Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 6 pm with Rosary at 5pm.
