José Mora Sr. passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 11 surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Steve and Josephine G. Mora on September 29, 1938, in Steels Store, Texas. He graduated from Crozier Tech HS and served in the USN, USAF, and retired as Major in the Army Reserve. While living in St Louis, MO he received his Master of Information Management degree from Washington University in St Louis. He was active in the Benito Juarez Society - St Louis Chapter, formed the first chapter of LULAC in St Louis, Crozier Tech Alumni Association, Mensa International, and was Vice President at Citi.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Helen Hughes Mora; children Richard (Joan) Mora, Jose (Laura) Mora, Catarina (David) Cunningham, Anastasia (Russell) Pharr; nine grandchildren and four great grand children. He is also survived by siblings Lena Kluth, Paul (Olivia) Mora, Bob (Lucy) Mora, and Mike (Susan) Mora; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his parents; siblings Jesse (Lee) Fagg, Frances (Rudy) Chavoya, and Louis Mora.
