John L. Kohler

Kohler, John Leonard of Dallas, died May 15, 2014 at the age of 92. He was born on December 11, 1921 in Kirkwood, Missouri to John Leonard and Irene (Budde). John retired from Wyeth Laboratories after 25 years of service. He was a member of the St. Rita Catholic Community and played tennis into his late 80’s. He was married to Jeanie DeGruy who preceded him in death three weeks ago. They were married for 66 years. He is survived by daughters, Janet Claussen and husband David, Mary Wright, Debbie Gambrel and husband Steve, and Caroline Mulligan and husband Gerry; sons, Kip Kohler, Louis Kohler and wife Sage, Tom Kohler and Kevin Kohler and wife Rolinda; 29 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends at 6:00 pm Sunday, May 18th, with a rosary to begin at 6:30 pm at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel in Dallas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, May 19th at St. Rita Catholic Church, 12521 Inwood Rd. Dallas. Rev. Monsignor Milam Joseph and Rev. John Edwards, SJ, con-celebrants. Interment will be held at Calvary Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Retirement Fund of the Jesuits of New Orleans (norprov.org).
