John Joseph Patrick Ford III, of Farmers Branch, TX, was born November 11, 1944 in Wellington, TX and passed away February 27, 2012 in Dallas, TX. Member of St. Monica’s Catholic Church. His community memberships include member of Midland High Soccer Booster Club from 2000 – 2010 and announcer of Midland High School soccer games. He received his B.A. in Geography from University of North Texas in 1969 and was a social studies teacher from 1971 to present. He also coach track, football, and golf. In Midland, TX he taught at Midland High, Goddard Junior High, Trinity, and St. Ann’s. He was currently teaching at the Winston School in Dallas, TX. He was a, Public school teacher for 27 years, private school teacher for 14 years. His greatest achievements were being a great educator, mentor, coach, husband and father. He enjoyed playing golf, movies, reading about history, oldies music, and watching soccer and football games. He devoted much of his time and energy to his family, especially his daughters. Survived by his wife Jovita Ford, daughters Sierra Cantrell and Silver Ford, and his brother Lanny Ford. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Monica’s Catholic Church, 9933 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas 75220, Rev. Stephen Bierschenk, celebrant. A reception will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Cantrell following the service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to his church, St. Monica’s Catholic Church, or to the American Stroke Association.
