John Clyde Crank, was born October 19, 1949 in Longview, TX to John Samuel and Sue Sutton Crank, and passed away August 6, 2010, in Dallas TX. He is survived by his son, John Clyde Crank II, (known as John II); daughter, Medley Jane Crank; his mother, Sue Sutton Crank; two brothers, Terry Sutton Crank and wife Cathy, and Robert Stuart Crank, all of Longview, TX; nephews Spec. Charles Samuel Crank and wife Laura of Fort Polk, LA, James Garland and wife Abnet, John Russell, and Jay Harrison Hurst, all of Houston, TX; niece, Claudia Sutton Crank of Longview, TX ; great nieces Raynan Crank of Fort Polk, LA, Emily Abnet Hurst of Houston, TX, and his great nephew; Kael Juan of Houston, TX. After being raised in Longview, John graduated from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX where he was a member of Phi Delta Theta, and then moved to Dallas where he was employed by Schneider Burnett, and married the mother of his children, Grace Anne Hurst Crank. He later retired as Vice President of Southwest Securities. John’s main love, besides his family, was fishing at the Channels Ranch in Ennis, Montana. He was a member of University Park United Methodist Church, Dallas Gun Club, and a former board member of The Shelton School. A memorial service will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Hwy.
