John Grady Coe, Jr. was born September, 18, 1927 in Lyford, Texas to Irene Ida Benton and John Grady Coe Sr. He passed away on October, 5, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. John proudly served in the US Army as a medic, with most of his time spent in Germany. John went on to work at Desoto Paint for many years before starting his business, Coe’s Printing and Stationery. John served his community for many years at Coe’s Printing and Stationery, which was a staple in Downtown Dallas. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid sports fan. John loved watching the Dallas Cowboys, playing cards and dominoes with family and friends, and traveling, especially to Las Vegas. He was well known for his homemade peach ice cream, his membership in the Choctaw Nation, and his great pride for his American Indian heritage. John is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Kealy Coe; parents, John Grady Coe Sr. and Irene Ida Benton Coe; brother, Benton Duane Coe; and his son, Robert Grady Coe. He is survived by his grandchildren John Coe and wife Amy of New Boston, TX; Kealy Coe and Fiancé Chad Meier of Linden, TX; great-grandchildren Lainey, Conner, Karsynn, Corbin, and Jaxson. John is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends including his close friend and companion Marjorie Weber.
