Joseph (Joe) P. Guerra passed away on October 11, 2023, at the age of 94 years old at home in Dallas, Texas. He was born on May 4, 1929, in Dallas, Texas to Jose and Avelina Guerra. Joe was raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Kroizer Tech, in Dallas, Texas.
Prior to him enlisting into the service, he worked at A&P Grocery Store. Joe served as a Master Sergeant in the Korean War where he was honorably discharged. He then returned to his former job where he had found the love of his life, Pauline Martinez. They continued dating and then Pauline and Joe were married in September 1954. Joe and Pauline had three children- Tim, Robert, and Rachel.
Joe later went to real estate school, became not only an agent but a broker. His family was so proud of his accomplishments- especially since he was not a spring chicken anymore. He continued in real estate for over thirty years. It was something he enjoyed and became quite successful.
He was an avid golfer. He participated in many tournaments. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. His friends and family will always remember him as a fun, caring, generous and strong-willed person. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was ecstatic every time they came to see him.
Joe was preceded in death by: his parents, Jose and Avelina Guerra; his spouse, Pauline M. Guerra; his eldest son, Tim M. Guerra; and his siblings, Richard Guerra, Rudy Guerra, Roy Guerra and Dora Perez.
Joe was survived by: his children, Rachel and Robert Guerra; his grandchildren, David and Claudia Rendon, Ryan and Sarah Tilotta and his great grandchildren, Julian, Lucia and Mattew Rendon, Madisyn and Madilyn Tilotta; siblings, Elvira Serna and Beatrice Vera.
Joe supported many organizations. One of is favorites was Unshackled Soldiers of Christ Ministries. He asked in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Unshackled Soldiers of Christ Ministries (USCMinistries.org) in his honor.
