She was born on August 27, 1979, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Raymond Kelly & Kyong Yi. Although Jessica lost her father at only five years old, she had a wonderful childhood growing up in Wichita Falls, as her mother ensured she always felt loved and supported and had everything she could ever want or need. Jessica was a 1997 graduate of Wichita Falls High School, where she served as Class President. She also played clarinet in the band and was a proud member of the Girls Squad “02 Juliet”. Jessica went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in education from Texas Woman’s University, as she had a passion for children and teaching. She went on to teach middle school at Richardson ISD before teaching at De Zavala Middle School in Irving for many years. She was a member of CEPTA (Carrollton Early Childhood PTA), where she active on the board for many years. Jessica was currently PTA Secretary at Shepherd Elementary, as she loved being involved. Jessica had a creative mind and loved crafts. She loved Cricutting, sending out Christmas cards, and keeping her house and life organized.
In 1999 while working at BankOne, Jessica met her future husband, Barry Parker. Barry knew from the moment she walked in that there was something special about her. They were friends for several years before they finally married on 11-12-13. Their love was strong as they loved each other fiercely and their devotion was unparalleled. They enjoyed the simplicity of time spent together and being active. Jessica and Barry enjoyed going to State Fair each year, attending Mardi Gras, and dining out with friends. They were overjoyed to be parents when Piper and Tripp were born. Jessica was a dedicated mother, stern yet full of love and compassion. She guided her children in an admirable way – encouraging them to be themselves and be who they are meant to be. Her legacy will live on through her children for the values and love she poured into them.
Jessica lit up a room the minute she walked in – she wasn’t just a ray of sunshine, she was the sun – bright and beautiful. People were drawn to Jessica and she never met a stranger. She could meet someone and immediately become great friends with them. She had a wonderful sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and a smile that exuded a genuine joy that radiated to others. Jessica’s zest for life and positivity made an incredible imprint on this world that she left far too soon. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
