He was born on July 1st, 1967 in Dallas, and lived most of his life in the greater Dallas area. He graduated from J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson and the University of North Texas in Denton.
He worked for many years in Security, most recently with Andy Frain Services. This line of work allowed him to have multiple experiences such as working at Dallas Cowboys games (when he wasn’t fleeing from runaway golf carts), many concerts, and alongside multiple celebrities. He was very passionate about his work and to say he loved it would be an understatement.
Jeff loved being a “girl dad”, and was proud of his daughter Becca and all of her accomplishments. More recently Jeff became a grandfather and loved being an “OG” to his grandson Bexton. Jeff was just as proud of his grandson when Bexton learned new things in spite of his challenges.
As an avid golfer, Jeff looked forward to the day he could take his grandson to the golf course. One of Jeff’s last jokes was about his 2-year-old grandson being a part of the PGA, Plastic Golf Association, when he saw Bexton starting to use his plastic golf set. He was always active and interested in sports, and a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, proving this by having a Cowboys helmet as his only tattoo.
Jeff was the happiest he had been in a long time at the time of his passing. The last couple of years were spent making life plans with his significant other, playing darts every Tuesday night, spending time with his daughter and family, telling the corniest dad jokes, and overall just being his goofy self.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Wheeler, and his father, Edward R. Wheeler. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Ramirez (TJ), and his grandson, Bexton Ramirez, his mother, Sylvia Allgaier, his brothers, Michael Wheeler and Charles Wheeler (Lynne). He is also survived by his step-sisters, Kim Kreth (Jim) and Stacey Dembroge. He is survived by his significant other, Valerie Kenwell. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church in Richardson, Texas on Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at 2 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kidd’s Kids (kiddskids.org).
Jeff’s family extends their heartfelt appreciation to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are a source of comfort.
