Her mother's family was Czech and her father's family was Irish. Jeanne Marie was baptized at St. Edwards Catholic Church and grew up in East Dallas in the Mt. Auburn area. Her grandparents, Sophie & John Kucera, lived next door as she and her siblings grew up. She attended St. Edwards Catholic Academy from the first grade through the twelfth grade. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano singing voice and was an asset to the Choral Club and Gregorian Chant Choir. She also sang beautifully for several weddings. Upon graduating in 1960, she was awarded a four year Linz Pin for scholastic excellence having a grade average above 90. She then attended Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas. Jeanne later worked for Sun Oil where her father had worked and her grandfather, William Paul Campion,I, retired. She was a speed typist and became a Deputy County Clerk for Dallas County. She was a member of the SPJST Lodge in Dallas and enjoyed going with her husband, John, and children to the family functions. She later worked for the main Post Office in Dallas. As a hobby later in life, she enjoyed writing beautiful christian poetry. Jeanne was a kind, loving, peaceful, christian wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Jeanne was called home to be with our Lord Jesus and her family in Heaven on St. Patrick's Day at eleven in the evening on March 17, 2018.
Jeanne is survived by her loving, devoted husband of thirty seven years, John David Mitchell, Sr.
Her children: Judith Marie Hitt Kuyrkendall & husband Derick, James Daniel Hitt & wife Debbie, John Allan Hitt & wife Wonju Seo, Theresa Mitchell Giles, John David Mitchell, Jr. & wife Misty and Daniel Patrick Mitchell, Sr.
Her grandchildren : Lauren Michelle Pena Ory & husband Daniel, Steven Michael Pena, Jr., Ashlen Marie Pena, Haley Elizabeth Hitt, Brianne Elaine Kuyrkendall, Joseph Canibano & wife Jamie, John David Mitchell, III, Daniel Patrick Mitchell,Jr., Tristan Mitchell and Tessa Mitchell. Her great grandchildren: Zachary Smith, Blake Smith and Cailey Canibano. Her siblings : Judith Anne Campion Blake & husband Marlin, William Paul Campion, II, & wife Kate, James Timothy Campion Jr. & wife Mary, John Michael Campion & wife Cindy and Edmund Joseph Campion & wife Danielle. and her many loved nieces & nephews.
